Proofreading involves checking for errors in the writing and presentation of the document: spelling, grammar, vocabulary and punctuation.This is allowed by most universities' rules on Plagiarism, Unfair Means, or Academic Integrity. However, please check your university's policies before requesting proofreading! A small number of universities do not allow students to use proofreading services of any kind. Breaking these rules can have serious consequences, including failing your module.

Experience
I am a former Lecturer in English at Xidian University School of Foreign Languages (Xi'an, China). I have previously worked at Oxford University, Sheffield University, Chester University and Aberystwyth University, in a variety of roles. I have also provided freelance editing to a major UK scholarly publisher.I am a native English speaker, CELTA-qualified teacher, and a linguistics graduate.I have a wide range of subject knowledge, and am comfortable working with academic material outside my own experience, including sciences, social sciences, arts, humanities, and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).Recent work has included editing articles on nutrition, image recognition, health monitoring and Chinese folk religion. I have also edited successful PhD applications to UK universities, and successful UK job applications.In addition to native English speakers, I am experienced in editing for clients whose first language is Mandarin Chinese or Thai.
